What the Hell is Larry Brown Doing?
So the Knicks' decision to hire Larry Brown...not so good. Dude has used 35 different starting lineups in 50 games. He plays Channing Frye, Nate Robinson and David Lee 12 minutes one night and 35 minutes the next. Surely the great Larry Brown, the ever-flowing fountain of NBA knowledge, knows that players, especially young players, need consistent minutes to be solid contributors.
Hey Larry, you prick, you're team is terrible. The team is in the tank, nobody's gonna think you're sabotaging the season if you play the young guys. Especially when they also give you the best chance at winning. However, I do believe that Brown is sabotaging the Knicks' future (however limited that may be when Isiaiah Thomas is running the show and thinks it's a good idea to spend $126 million on, arguably, the worst team in the league). Don't start Malik Rose at power forward when you know he has no future, not when you have Lee and Frye on the bench, ready to play their hears out.
Why not put Robinson, Jalen Rose, Trevor Ariza (or Jamal Crawford), Eddy Curry and the Frye/Lee combo out their as a starting lineup? And when I say starting lineup, I mean give them starter minutes. Don't start them and let them play 14 minutes. Likewise, don't put them on the bench and then ask them to play 40 minutes once every four games. Larry, it's called rhythm. Get a fucking clue.
Never, ever, ever play Maurice Taylor, Jerome James or Malik Rose. Keep a tight reign on the shot selection of Crawford, Stephon Marbury and Quentin Richardson (who, in my opinion, is the quintessential example of a player who goes unconscious for one game, hitting 7 to 10 threes which makes him believe that he is a three point shooter for the rest of his career...hey Quentin, you're a defender and rebounder, get your ass under the hoop and whatever you do, don't ever let me see that you've shot more than 4 three pointers in any one game).
